Lunt Roman Fort

On Friday 27th May, Year 3 went on a historical adventure to Lunt Roman Fort. The trip linked very nicely to their Courageous Celts and Ruthless Romans topic.

The children learnt about what life as a Roman Soldier would have been like. They learnt to march and chant in Latin. They safely wore Roman armour to protect them and learnt how to use weapons such as wooden swords and foam spears. The children loved this roll play activity and were fierce soldiers. They also learnt about the history of the fort and how it was used as a safe haven for Romans to live… and as you can see from the pictures below, the weather was on our side.
