Inclusion Statement of Intent

At Calshot Primary School, we believe that Inclusion means ensuring that every child in our school matters, has a voice and a sense of belonging.  We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and fair environment where every child is nurtured and has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

Inclusion is at the heart of our school and underpins everything we believe in and is reflected in our day-to-day practice. Inclusion encompasses the following groups: children who have an additional need (SEND), children with English as an additional language (EAL), children that are or have previously been in care, young carers, children with anxiety and/or social, emotional needs, children who are struggling with attendance, children with medical needs, children who are disadvantaged for other personal reasons.

Inclusion is not a bolt-on intervention; it is the foundation of our entire school community. We are dedicated to proactively identifying and reducing the barriers to learning and engagement by working proactively and collaboratively with families and external support agencies.  Our intention is that pupils of all abilities, backgrounds, faiths, and needs learn and thrive side-by-side with their peers.
